Geelong carbon fibre precinct

The Carbon Nexus research facility is located on the Waurn Ponds campus of Deakin University in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

It lies at the heart of a growing carbon fibre and composites manufacturing precinct.

The Waurn Ponds precinct includes manufacturing operations for several companies who supply carbon composites to a wide range of markets including automotive, industrial, sporting goods, medical and defence.

Within 15 minutes drive from the Carbon Nexus facility a wider group of companies in the Geelong region are manufacturing products for markets including marine, mining and infrastructure.

Together with Deakin, CSIRO and the Geelong Manufacturing Council, a group of local companies have formed the Geelong Advanced Fibre Cluster, with the goal of improving the competitiveness of member companies.
